A fairly rudimentary tell from Mike Matusow, but many beginners don’t understand what to look for in live poker, and I use this one myself. I’ll use it offensively AND defensively. My brother had a huge tell for years, and I only clued him in after I moved far enough away that I knew I would not be playing in our home game much anymore. When he was weak, he would bet with his low-denomination chips because he didn’t like having a bunch of small chips and he didn’t mind losing them. When he was strong it was nothing but blacks.
That’s how you use it defensively. To use it offensively, give off false tells in this same manner; many people have tells associated with how they handle chips, so project a false-tell into the game with the intention to trap later. Maybe slam the stack when you’re weak, and if you get caught be sure to slam your stack when you’re strong. Works like a charm.
